Bulldogs Take Step Towards The Playoffs

The Bulldogs and the Walnut Mustangs came into last Friday Nights Game both needing a win after dropping their first league game. The Bulldogs asserted their superiority quickly and jumped out to a 17-0 lead and never looked back on their way to a 31-11 Homecoming victory.

Another big game awaits the Bulldogs this Friday as they travel to take on the Rowland Raiders. The winner of this game will most likely secure a 2nd seed San Antonio League playoff spot (barring an unforeseen loss to Nogales, of course). The Bulldogs are also looking to avenge a loss at home to the Raiders last year.

Bulldogs Lose Crown,Take On Mustangs Next

The Varsity Bulldog’s three game winning streak came to a screeching halt last Friday when they lost to rival South Hills 27-6. The game was not as close as the score indicates.

West Covina’s offense had absolutely no punch, and the defense could not contain the running attack of the Huskies.

This is homecoming week for the Bulldogs and they find themselves facing another team in a must-win situation; the Walnut Mustangs. Kickoff is set for 7pm on Friday.

The JV Team will be hosting Walnut on Thursday, and the Frosh Team will be on the road at Walnut the same day. Kickoff for both games is 3:15 pm.

West Covina Bulldogs Finish Non-League in Style

The Bulldogs came in a prohibitive favorite over a struggling Diamond Bar team, but the Brahmas did not go down easy. Diamond Bar’s no huddle offense caused some problems in the first half and stayed in contention all the way through the 3rd quarter.

The Bulldogs finally put the game away with long touchdown runs by QB George Johnson and RB Ricky Johnson. The highlight play of the game may have been the 100+ yard “pick six” by the  Bulldog’s Defensive Back Andrew Perez. Final score Bulldogs 41 Brahmas 20.

West Covina Routs Los Altos

The Varsity Bulldogs improved their record to 2-3 with an easy 47-12 win over visiting Los Altos High.

Senior running back Ricky Johnson scored 3 times along with four other Bulldog running backs scoring a touchdown each. Ricky Johnson also had a kickoff return for a score that was called back for a holding penalty.

The Bulldogs travel to Diamond Bar for their last non-league game of the season this Friday Oct. 9th. Kickoff at 7 pm
